I know we focus on apps, and building them from app templates, but taking a step back, none of this would exist without the iPhone.
For an iFanatic like me, it’s hard to imagine life before iPhone existed, but it was only 6 years ago. And the engineering feats accomplished to bring it into existence were extraordinary. But f@ck I’m glad it happened. Anyway, I came across a great account of the launch of the iPhone, and just how dicey it was leading up to it, in the New York Times.
Remarkably, Jobs had to be talked into having Apple build a phone at all. “It was like the first moon mission.”
